Dual-threat dynamo Shohei Ohtani has contributed a blue ink on-card signature to the obverse of this essentially unimprovable Upper Deck Goodwin Champions Autograph MLB debut-year collectible. The aggregate odds of pulling a card from the Autographs insert set out of a pack of 2018 Goodwin Champions is 1:52; Upper Deck, however, released specific odds for each individual card in the set, revealing that Ohtani's entry is the second hardest to pull in the entire insert series, with an astronomical 1:53,661 pack-insertion rate. On the back of a triumphant World Baseball Classic that saw him capture the tournament's Most Valuable Player Award after slashing .435/.606/.739 to go alongside a sparkling 1.86 ERA on the mound, Ohtani enjoyed another MVP-winning campaign in 2023.
